Coolant Leak Issue

OK so I've read about radiator problems with Caterhams many times. It seems that at about 2000 miles a few people on the blogs I've read have had issues and ended up claiming a new radiator on on the warranty. Let's hope that isn't the issue here but after returning from the Fish and Chip run my coolant header tank was empty and my car engine bay was splattered in lots of dry white coolant.

I decided to top it all up, warm the car up to water temperature and then nip a few hoses up a bit more as I figured they may have come loose.

I then took it out for another drive, and unfortunately I had coolant leaking all over my nose cone from the inside and the white residue that I had cleaned off, was back again.

So I cleaned it all up again, changed the clips on the hoses, topped it up, dried it all and then left it to idle in the garage for a bit to see what happened.

As far as I could see, the hoses themselves looked to be OK, but initial reports are showing a leak from the upper left hand side (near the top hose), this does seem to be the common "radiator" issue that other people have reported. You can see a pink colouration at this part of the radiator. I also noticed a tiny bit of pink coolant near the opposite lower side aswell.

As the car is going in to Caterham Silverstone for the oil pressure issue, I've decided to let them take a look as well as I'm at a bit of a loose end now as to what to do here.

I spent this weekend flushing out the coolant, cleaning all the terminals, changing the jubilee clips, trying the "inner tube" trick to aid sealing the pipes to the radiator and I'm still getting quite a lot of coolant leaking, especially after I have driven the car. I took some more videos as I do think that the weld joints on the radiator might be the problem.

The resolution is documented in the following post:
